Special Guests for Chessman's Connecticut Reading

For Harriet Scott Chessman's recent reading and booksigning at the Hickory Stick Bookshop in Washington Depot, CT, several members of the Abbey of Regina Laudis were in attendance. This Benedictine community inspired much of The Beauty of Ordinary Things.

To learn more about the special place of this Abbey in the novelist's imagination and in the novel itself, see the "Album of Inspirations" shared in this space a while back.

NB: Copies of The Beauty of Ordinary Things can be ordered through the Abbey's Monastic Art Shop (along with distinctive wool products, craftwork, or CDs of Gregorian chant from the community).
